1. Tata Group said to win Air India in historic seal, years in making: Bloomberg.

Tata Sons is set to take over ailing Air India again, more than a century after the country’s biggest conglomerate ceded control to the state, ending the government’s hold over an airline that for decades defined the lofty ambitions of a newly independent nation.

2. LPG cylinder prices October 1, 2021: LPG gets becomes costlier by Rs. 43.

New Delhi: Petroleum companies have increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs. 43 per bottle. The price of 19 kg per commercial cylinder in Delhi has been now increased to Rs 1736.50 per bottle. Earlier on September 1, the price of commercial LPG cylinder was increased by Rs. 75. The new order is effective from 1 October.

3. With 26,727 new COVID-19 infectinos, India logs slightly higher daily count.

New Delhi: India logged 26,727 new COVID-19 cases and 277 fatalities in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry on Friday.

4. Swachh Bharat, AMRUT 2.0: PM Modi launches plans for garbage free, water secure cities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 and the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation 2.0 mission, two flagship schemes of the Central Government aimed at making all of India’s cities ‘garbage free’ and ‘water secure’. At the launch event, Prime Minister Modi said that the two programmers constitute an important step toward fulfilling the dreams of social reformer Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.

5. Bihar, Sikkim likely to see very heavy rainfall on October 2.

New Delhi, October 1: The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall over Bihar on October 2 and sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on October 2 and 3.

6. Hurricane Sam to bring tropical storm conditions to Bermuda.

The hurricane was located about 435 miles south southeast of Bermuda. It was moving north-northwest at 17 mph.

7. 8 storey Shimla Apartment collapses like house of cards in front of residents.

The Shimla Municipal corporation had asked the families to vacate the hill top property as soon as possible 15 days ago due to potential danger.
