1.Schools need to be reopened in a phased manner, says ICMR study.

The Indian council of Medical Research in its latest study suggested that schools need to reopened in a phased manner.

The study also said that schools should be allowed to remain open and safe with the appropiate implementation of multi layered mitigation measures where childrens’ participation remains esssential.

2. EC announces by poll schedule for 3 Lok Sabha, 30 assembly seats.

The Election Commission of India on Tuesday announced by polls to three Lok Sabha and 30 assembly seats on October 30, saying the schedule was finalised after reviewing the situations related to the pandemic, floods, festivals, cold conditions in certain regions and feedback from local authorities.

India is observing the 14th birth anniversary of freedom fighter and revolutionary leader Bhagat Singh today.

4. Gold price today, 28th September: Gold available at Rs. 46,280 per 10 gm,.

On Tuesday, the 24 carat gold is sold for Rs. 46,280 per 10 gram, up rs 40 from the previous transaction.

According to the Good retirns website, silver is sold for rs. 60,250 per kilogram, up rs. 350 from yesterday’s trading price.

5. New cyclonic circulation in Bay of Bengal; Odisha, West Bengal to experience heavy rainfall.

Two days after Cyclone Gulab hit the coastal areas of Odisha and Andra Pradesh, a new cyclonic circulation has developed in the adjoining coastal areas of eastcentral Bangladesh.

6. Chances of formation of another cyclone over the Arabian Sea: IMD.

A remnant of cyclone Gulab, which has now weakened into a depression over north Telangana and adjoining Vidarbha, moved west north westwards and was over Telangana and adjoining areas of Marathwada and Vidarbha o Tuesday morning. It is likely to move west north westwards and weaken into a well marked low pressure area later on Tuesday.

7. Navjot Singh Sidhu resigns as Punjab Congress chief Months ahead of assembly polls.

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu resigned as the chief of party’s Punjab unit on September 28, around two months after he had assumed the charge.
