Related schemes, such as monochromatic or analogous schemes are most suitable for these rooms. A Black & White bedroom color scheme is anything but basic accented with shiny brass and blush pink. These light tones soften the high contrast pairing of two tone wall colors in the Bedroom. When incorporating color with Black & White, go with barely there tones to keep the room's emphasis on its graphic elements. Shiplap walls and muted patterns and texture and dimension to the neutral color palette. Hints of dark charcoal in light fixtures and patterned textiles break up the expanses of white.

CHILDREN’S ROOM:

These rooms often make use of bright colors as children are fond of color primaries. Warm colors in constrasting schemes, such as complementary, triad and tetrad schemes can be employed to create a cheerful ambience. Tints of orange, like peach or yellow can be employed on walls with imaginative bright coloured bands or stripes in limited areas to creat a focal point. Bright accent colours can also be used on furniture or table accessories like pen stand, table lamp etc. for older children or in toys for younger children.

Example

Yellow: If their room is bright and cheerful, they’ll be more energized to get their homework done.

Aqua: This shade of blue may be the most versatile colour ever, because it works with almost anything from coral, to pink, to green, to yellow.

Beige: A classic sand color is neutral enough to work over several years and can act as a foundation, so the details can change as the child starts exploring his or her own personal style

Boy’s Room:

Carroll tends to stick with classic blue for boy’s rooms, but for a new and fresh twist combine aqua with tangerine. Navy and apple green is another favourite combination that is young and fun.

Designer Jennifer Duneier of Duneier design loves navy blue mixed with Camels, Chocolate brown, reds and whites for a boy’s room since the colours are both masculine and fun.

Pale pink, Creamy white and Aqua are a top pick for girls.Hot Pink, Raspberry and it’s shade, orange and grey accents to incorporate pink can be combined with Aqua, white and gold for a fun mix that will grow with any little girl.

Silver & Gold color combination

A clever mix of cold, silver and white tones makes this dining room color scheme the interior  equivalent of a jewellery box filled with glistening precious metals & pearls. The use of white walls & mouldings elevates the space beautifully, trying in the springtime beauty of the cherry blossom wallpaper and giving a modernity to the decorative ceiling motifs. A delicate chandelier hangs overhead, offering an airy presence.

Giving a sophisticated edge to a classic color duo, this Helen Green dining room color palette revives hues of powdery blues and inviting neutrals to create a timeless dining room color scheme which is both relaxed and elegant. Deep neutral drapes trim the windows and even deeper woods are used for the doors & dining table.

Coral & Neutral Combination

We love to see designers using warm and cool tones together in modern ways. In this dining room color scheme, saturated grey wallpaper is offset by golden brass tones and balanced with pale blush drapes and neutral upholstery.

Monochrome Dining room

Monochrome never goes out of style and as this smart dining room color palette of charcoal, white, black and silver proves, it’s one of the best choices for a sophisticated and subtly layered palette. New York interior designer Jennifer post works double duty in this dining room with two, almost identical dining arrangements.

KITCHEN

Kitchens are used for a limited period of a day. Hence strong colours can be used for wall cabinet fronts and wall tiles. All natural colours with extensive use of natural wood tones are also satisfactory. Floor colours should be a little lighter than the walls to avoid a sense of congestion. Counter tops are usually best kept in lighter tones to make the food materials easily visible, through dark granite colours are also employed often. If the consideration of cleanliness is more important, white colour can also be used satisfactory with some areas of strong colours as contrast. Stainless steel, often used for sinks, is also suitable for counter and drawer fronts and appliances etc.but the sense of coldness created by this material should be relieved by employing strong colours in flooring or other surfaces.

Grey & White

We love grey in any room especially in this kitchen designed by Sara Davis. The soft grey cabinets pop against the dark brown wood floors, creating a modern yet simple combination.

Warm Grey

Martha Stewart’s kitchen features understated neutral tone that she says was inspired by shells. The warm grey pairs nicely with copper cookware.

Eggplant

In this striking London kitchen design Rita Konig opted for cabinets from her own colourful line for plain English in a shade of Purple dubbed Burnt Toast.

TOILET

White colour is associated with cleanliness and sanitation, which is an important consideration in toilet design. Hence, this colour is frequently used in toilets. Some other cool colours such as blue, green can also be used to make the ambience livelier. Warm colours are not recommended as a basic colour though can be employed in small accents such as bands of coloured tiles, toiletry cabinet or mirror frames etc. if the toilet is attached with a bed room, the wall and floor colours can be choosen to match the colour scheme of the djacent bed room .

Example

Add depth with a Blue Green

Keep the bathroom simple with a white suite and chrome brass ware, then ring the changes with a deep blue-green wall colour.

Building out a shallow shelf and tiling with plain white tiles not only hides waste pipes but also offers the perfect ledge for fresh foliage, bringing in pops of vibrant green to scheme.

Work with all shades of grey

Grey bathroom ideas literally make the walls feel like they are closing in on you painting the bath in a paler grey and adding wooden accessories will give an added dimension & prevent the grey walls becoming overbearing.

Mix pebble & Stone

Mix greys, off-whites & browns with touches of shell pink to create a neutral scheme with a pretty edge. Pair up opposites for a look that’s inspired by nature but sophisticated, too. Team slate floor tiles with pretty polished stone mosaics; though concrete-grey walls with soft pink towels, smooth wood with rustic wicker.

Plaster Pink

Give a downstairs cloakroom some pretty vintage touches start by choosing a soft pink for the walls, add lace embossed tiles and finish with a flourish of pretty preloved accessories to complete the work.

If it is a small cloakroom, paint all walls in the same colour for a super impressive feel and choose an cut of scalloped edge lace to dress the windows too.
